This past March, the Environmental Justice & Sustainability clinic partnered with the York Research Chair in Environmental Law and Justice to present a free event on climate change lawsuits.
Climate change lawsuits are proceeding in many jurisdictions and have begun to achieve major victories. This is an important area of the law for both public interest environmental lawyers, as well as lawyers whose clients need to understand the litigation risk they face in relation to climate change.
Moderated by David Estrin, Counsel at Gowling WLG in Toronto, leading lawyers in this area discussed the latest developments in climate litigation in Canada, the USA, Germany, the Philippines and beyond.
